Couple Caught Having Sex on Grave in Historic Florida Cemetery

Sex in strange places isn’t exactly new—but this one takes the tombstone.

On March 26, police in Sumter County, Florida, discovered a couple engaged in a public sex act on top of a grave in Wild Cow Prairie Cemetery, a site listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

💀 Busted on Grave #43

According to a police report obtained by The Smoking Gun, Joseph Luke Brown and Stephanie Kay Wegman were seen “engaged in sexual activity on top of unknown grave #43” when Trooper W. Kelly arrived at the locked cemetery.

Kelly had initially noticed a white Nissan parked with the windows down and no occupants inside. After scanning the grounds, he found the couple in the act.

“The male and female went to the white vehicle to obtain clothing, place a blanket back, and the female obtained her ID,” Kelly wrote in his report.

It turned out that the vehicle was registered to Wegman and her husband—but Brown, the man involved in the cemetery encounter, was not her husband.

💊 It Gets Worse: Drugs Discovered

As the couple got dressed, another officer arrived on the scene with a K-9 unit. The dog quickly alerted to the vehicle, prompting a probable cause search.

Inside the car, officers reportedly discovered:

• A crystal substance that tested positive for methamphetamine

• Two unlabeled prescription bottles, later found to contain Alprazolam and Oxycodone

🚔 The Aftermath

• Stephanie Kay Wegman was arrested on the spot.

• Joseph Brown was transported to a hospital due to a preexisting leg injury.

• Authorities stated they will seek a warrant for Brown’s arrest.

The Wild Cow Prairie Cemetery dates back to the mid-1800s, with 44 burials recorded between 1849 and 1925. It was officially recognized as a historic site in 2021.

Now, it’s made headlines for a very 21st-century reason: sex, scandal, and meth on sacred ground.
